Information Collection and Use
The Heart Rhythm Foundation is the sole owner of information collected from this site. This privacy statement describes our privacy policy with regard to such information. By visiting this site, you are accepting the practices described in this privacy statement. We will not sell, share, or rent this information to others in ways other than those described in this privacy statement, or as otherwise stated at the time information is gathered.

Personally-Identifiable Information
When you provide us with personally-identifiable information, the Foundation may:

  • store and process that information to better understand our user audience;
  • use and disclose that information in order to contact you for informational, marketing and promotional purposes regarding the Foundation;
  • disclose that information to third parties when we have reason to believe that disclosing this information is necessary to identify, contact or bring legal action against someone who may be causing injury to or interference with (either intentionally or unintentionally) the Foundation's rights or property or anyone else that could be harmed by such activities;
  • disclose that information to third parties when we believe in good faith that the law requires it; and
  • transfer such information to successors.

Financial Information
You may be required to submit certain information (such as your credit card number and expiration date) when you make an online pledge to the Foundation. The Foundation has engaged Groundspring.org to facilitate such online pledges. Use and disclosure of information submitted to Groundspring.org is subject to their privacy policy, currently available at http://www.groundspring.org/privacypolicy.cfm. The Foundation has no responsibility for Groundspring.org’s compliance with this independent policy. Personally-identifiable information provided by Groundspring.org to the Foundation may be used and disclosed as provided in this privacy statement.

Non-Personally-Identifiable Information
The Foundation may also collect information about you that is not personally-identifiable. Examples of this type of information may include your gender, age range and other non-personally identifiable information about you submitted as part of the SCA risk assessment survey available on the site. We will not collect any such information about you unless you provide it to us voluntarily. We will not disclose any health information we collect from you in association with any personally-identifiable information we collect from you, except as permitted under the paragraph entitled “Personally-Identifiable Information”. We may use and share information that is not personally-identifiable as permitted by law.

Log Files
IP addresses are used to administer the site, analyze trends, track users’ movement, and gather broad demographic information for aggregate use. There is no link between IP addresses that are analyzed and your personally-identifiable information. This information is solely used to help us better understand our user audience.

Information We May Place Automatically On Your Computer's Hard Drive
When you view this site, we may store some information on your computer. This information will be in the form of a "cookie" or similar file and will help us to tailor this site to better match your interests and preferences. Transmission of information to and from the Foundation is over a network that is not secure or encrypted, so we cannot guarantee the security of e-transmissions. This includes submission of information pertaining to the SCA risk assessment. Once we receive e-transmissions, we take steps to help ensure the security of the information on our systems, but we cannot guarantee such security. If you are concerned about conveying information over the Internet, feel free to convey information to us by regular mail.

The Foundation expects Groundspring.org to use SSL or other encryption technology to protect information submitted to it as part of the online pledge process, but we cannot guarantee such protection or the security of information stored by Groundspring.org.
