Heart Rhythm Foundation Receives $25,000 Grant

The Hubbard Broadcasting Foundation recognizes the Foundation’s Rhythms in Time exhibit

Washington D.C – July 2, 2008 — The Heart Rhythm Foundation is pleased to announce the receipt of a $25,000 grant from The Hubbard Broadcasting Foundation of St. Paul, Minnesota. The Hubbard Broadcasting Foundation’s mission is to foster, advance, promote and administer scientific, educational, charitable and religious aims and projects.

The grant has been awarded to the Heart Rhythm Foundation in conjunction with the Furman Fund and its Rhythms in Time exhibit. The Fund was established to honor the memory and continue the vision of Seymour Furman, MD, a founding member and past president of the Heart Rhythm Society. One of its objectives is to preserve a historic view of cardiac pacing and electrophysiology.

The Rhythms in Time exhibit was established in 1998 by Dr. Furman to educate others about the rich history of the field. The exhibit is displayed each year at the Society’s Annual Scientific Sessions. Previous exhibits have focused on historical events such as the 50th anniversary of the first human cardiac implant or profiles of prominent leaders in electrophysiology.
