Please Give Generously to Your Society

Winter 2011

Each year, the Heart Rhythm Society (HRS) dedicates its work to reducing death and disability due to cardiac arrhythmia disorders. We could not have done it alone. It is through our donors' generous contributions that we are able to advance vital research, education, and health care policies making us the leading organization to focus on positively impacting heart rhythm care and improving patient outcomes. This year, with the help of our donors, the Heart Rhythm Society achieved another year of success!

In 2011 the HRS:

  • Broadcasted the new Atrial Fibrillation (AF) Public Service Announcement on national media outlets
  • On November 3, 2011, U.S. House of Representatives member Phil Roe, MD (R-TN), introduced H. R. 457 to raise public awareness about encouraging individuals to seek training in the use of cardiopulmonary resuscitation and automated external defibrillators
  • HRS' request for a physician specialty code for cardiac electrophysiology has been approved by the Centers for Medicaid and Medicare Services
  • Developed a 60-minute AF patient DVD
  • Released the Expert Consensus Statements on: the State of Genetic Testing for the Channelopathies and Cardiomyopathies and Perioperative Management of CIEDs Patients
  • In partnership with the National Stroke Association, launched new live educational programming on the Management of AF in the Prevention of Stroke
  • Expanded the availability of the 2012 – 2013 Research Fellowship in Cardiac Electrophysiology to individuals outside of North America

By supporting the Heart Rhythm Foundation, you can help us in furthering the Society's mission to improve the care of patients by advancing research, education and optimal health care policies and standards. Your contribution will impact millions of individuals around the world who are affected by heart rhythm disorders.
