Rachel Lampert, MD, FHRS, husband, Richard Goodwin, and Merrill Lynch have pledged to the Heart Rhythm Foundation at the Governor level because they believe in the Society and Foundation's mission.
Dr. Lampert writes, “I am very pleased to make this gift to the Heart Rhythm Society (HRS). The work of HRS in supporting arrhythmia-related research and policies, in particular, for me, geared toward preventing sudden death and guiding care for patients with defibrillators, is invaluable for our patients. HRS guidelines improve clinical care and lead to tangible policy-changes that benefit patients with arrhythmias.”
Dr. Lampert continues, “We are fortunate that my husband's employer, Merrill Lynch, has a long-term matching gift program*, which enables us to greatly increase the value of our contribution. We hope that others will consider donations to HRS, and consider taking advantage of similar programs if available.”
To find out if your company has a matching gift policy, please check with your Human Resources department and request a matching gift form.

*Matching donations or matching gifts is a charitable practice where an individual or organization pledges to give an equal amount of money to a certain organization, where the amount given is equal to the amount raised in individual gifts. The practice of matching donations thus doubles the amount that the charity receives. Many employers sponsor matching gift programs and will match any charitable contributions made by their employees.
