January 5, 2010 — Dr. John D. Day, a member of the Heart Rhythm Society for eight years and Board of Trustee member, has pledged to the Heart Rhythm Foundation at the Founder level. Day says, “The Heart Rhythm Society has been of greatest value to me in that it has given me an opportunity to give back and significantly contribute to the field of heart rhythm disorders.

“Most of my volunteer time within the Heart Rhythm Society has been focused on helping to educate heart rhythm patients, caregivers, nurses, and physicians about the proper treatment of heart rhythm disorders. As I have given of myself to the Heart Rhythm Society, I have met many great individuals over the years who have served as mentors and role models to me as I have developed my career.”

Dr. Day recalls, “one of our greatest career accomplishments has been bringing together a team of amazingly talented physicians and other professionals in developing a world class arrhythmia program at Intermountain Medical Center in Salt Lake City, Utah. We have developed one of the largest atrial fibrillation ablation programs in the world and have been very involved in the education of physicians throughout the world as well as developing new therapies for treating atrial fibrillation and other heart rhythm disorders. Through our partnership with the Heart Rhythm Society, we have developed the annual worldwide Virtual Atrial Fibrillation Symposium.”

Dr. Day has served on many committees including as Chair of Education, the Scientific Sessions Program Committee, various working groups and subcommittees as well as the strategic planning task force.
